There are certain people in life who seem to possess a magical spark that lights up everyone around them. Nokuthula Sithole, aka. Noxy The Divine Diva,is one such person. An intoxicating, bubbly personality, Noxy was born to entertain, and she always knew from a tender age that the media world was her space to conquer and shine. So from the moment she entered the scene and rocked the airwaves at Star FM, we ‘kinda’ suspected that being an entertainer was her superpower. And we were right! We caught up with the beautiful star for a quick chat on her career, her life and some of her favourite things…
I was born and raised in Bulawayo. My parents separated when I was 6 and I moved to Masvingo for some time then went back to Bulawayo at 11…
I used to work in Hospitality before Media and I hosted the Star Fm team quite a few times. I’d always get compliments on how I had a great personality and that I needed to try out Radio. So when I left my job, the first place I knocked was at Star FM and the rest, as they say, is history…
(Laughs) This is a weird one but I guess it kind of stuck. ‘Noxy’ comes as a shortcut to my full name Nokuthula, and ‘Divine Diva’; well let’s just say I thought myself a Diva in the Lord….
As a kid I remember watching Makanaka on TV, and telling my mum that this was what I wanted to do. Back then Makanaka used to be dressed by Alcatraz and whenever my mum would put me on the bus to Harare, as soon as I got there, I’d head straight to Alcatraz to do a little shopping just so I could wear the same clothes as her. So yeah, as a kid she was definitely a ‘role model’. As an adult the list is a bit longer now and includes Pearl Thusi, Ruvheneko and Nomzamo Mbatha.
Meeting people! I love meeting new people; there’s so much to learn and each and every person is a new experience- good or bad.
This is so hard because I’ve had quite a few good ones but interviewing Jackie Mgido will definitely be in the top 5.
I think I’ve always known I wanted to be in Media and dreaming about anything else never occurred to me. As a kid I wanted to be an Author and TV Personality, and in my early 20s I spent so much time singing in church I thought of being a musician. And then Radio happened so I guess Media was always going to be it.
Fun, Loving , Kind , Resilient and Ambitious.
Failing myself. And I’m working hard to reach my full potential. I don’t want to look back and have any regrets.
My phone…I’m really addicted.

Invisibility so I can snoop on people or just scare them by dropping things or randomly writing on walls (Laughs)
Reading a book, binge watching stuff on TV or hanging out with my friends.
I want to be remembered as a kind and loving person. Some people want international recognition and as much as that would be nice I just want for the people close to me to remember me and feel warm.
Happy, living comfortably and still in the media space.
