.Learn to learn. You cannot progress without learning.
.One of my favourite quotes is from the Queen of Authenticity herself, India Arie: “Life is a journey, it’s not a destination. There are no mistakes, just chances we’ve taken. Lay down your regrets ‘cause all we have is NOW.
.Embrace who you are; it starts with you.
.Be over kind always, you lose nothing.
.Help others because tomorrow is not guaranteed, you never know who’s going to help your children.
.Be open-minded, go besides yourself and what you think.
.Find the beauty in everything and everyone, if you can find beauty in people you’ve found gold. The opportunity with people is not in their weakness, it’s in finding their strength and making that strength work for both of you. Always seek to find the beauty in others because it’s there.
.Dream on your feet, be alive for your dreams, action on your feet, work at your dreams, no one is going to do it for you. Tomorrow is not guaranteed; dream it,do it. When you dream on your feet, there’s no such thing as failure, just lessons and experiences.
.Focus on a packaging that feels natural for yourself, what you are naturally good at, that’s where you’ll find your success.
.In everything you do, remember your heart. Ita zvinhu zvine hunhu . Remain humble. Practice humility. Do things that are dignified.
.I know you’ve asked for ten only but I feel this is an important one for women of our generation, so bear with me, I’m going to give you an 11th. (Side note: To be honest, this didn’t surprise me at all! If she had stopped at 10? THAT would have shocked me!)
Document your journey. A lot of people fail to do that. Take pride in documenting your journey, tell your story, this is very important for the legacy you are building.
