Zimbabweans are clearly a very forgiving people. All roads led to the HICC on Saturday night and I’m sure the ladies went for more than just the great entertainment, a bit of the ‘eye candy’ there. The Nigerian Superstar Davido put on a great show which lasted for almost two hours. He looked charming and classy in an all- black outfit and in solidarity with the Zimbabweans he had a flag on his shoulders showing he appreciates that we recently celebrated 38years of our Independence.
Davido began his energetic performance with his hit “Dami Duro” just to remind his fans how they fell in love with his music in the first place a couple of years ago. Among his hit songs, he performed “Skelewu’’, “If’’, “Aye”, as well as his collaboration with our own Jah Prayzah; “My Lilly!” Davido promised the audience more songs from him and Jah in the near future.
Davido went on to deliver a verbal public apology for disappointing his fans twice last year. The dancing and the noisy ululations from the audience were a clear sign that his apology was accepted. He also called well known businessman Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure on stage and thanked him for bringing him to Zimbabwe.
It was a great night indeed, hoping Davido will keep his promise and come back to Zimbabwe soon.
