Zimbabwe is a hub of talented musicians, there’s a genre for everyone and just in case you only aligned House Music to South Africa here’s News for you!!!

Leeknotic Mambo is a Bulawayo based house sensation, who has won the hearts of many in Bulawayo and beyond through his dance songs. He is popularly known for the song Tshibilika where he collaborated with Sandra Ndebele in 2017. The music video airs on Trace. And of course the single-track Thanyela where he featured the first lady of Zim house TKP Undlunkulu, which caused an uproar on social media with the thanyela dance challenge.

Most people call him by his trademark Leeknotic Mambo; I call him the Tswana Coloured Shona guy. Tswana because his Setswana almost sounds like Warren Masemola’s  in Ring of Lies. Coloured because of his accent and his stage name. Shona because he is proudly Zezuru. His official name is  Leeroy Mhike, bred in the city that never sleeps, and grew up in Botswana and South Africa.

Leeknotic started singing when he was in high school but changed levels in 2014 when he released his first single in Botswana titled Hamba Ashi and has never looked back. The year, 2017 marked the climax of his career with the two major collaborations with Bulawayo’s most celebrated female artists, Sandra Ndebele and TKP.  He Started off 2018 with a bang by releasing a collaboration with one of Bulawayo’s finest talent, Hwabarathy entitled Kuzo Kuyovalwa. It keeps getting better as he just dropped a new collaboration together with a music video entitled Ben 10 that features Skaiva of the famous Imali yeqolo song, J Dot, Sweet Mobi and Black Diamond from the UK. Leeknotic is currently working on a collaboration with Skaiva, Sweet Mobby, Boy Richie and Styllz called Issa Gqom, which should be released end of April 2018.

He describes himself as a thinker and a happy person. I describe him as a spiritual and modest young man. Besides music, Leeknotic works at Boom City in the marketing department and models for clothing lines. During his spare time, the horror fanatic in him would be repeating insidious. Leeknotic is inspired by Dj Maphorisa and hopes to change the face and sound of music in Zimbabwe as a whole and he lives by the statement: if you think it, you can do it. He is in a happy relationship.
