Ola Divas – December Edition

Ola Divas;

It seems my editor’s notes are always to usher in a new year or wrap up on one – that’s how fast the time goes! It remains a mystery to me how ridiculously time dragged on in my younger days – how the midterm break never seemed to get there or how the teachers seemed to magically conspire to stretch a 3 month school term into an entire year. The school holidays were always such a far far off thing! And yet now – I go to bed in January with a full list of to do’s and must do’s and I wake up a ‘few hours’ later smack on in the middle of November. How??!!

One person I know for sure has ticked off a lot (if not all) of her to do’s this year and knows exactly how every month of her 2017 went is our November cover star – Tyra Chikocho aka Madam Boss. Her success and the continued rise of her star this year is testament enough to this. There’s nothing I love more than a funny girl – a woman bold and confident enough to get downright down and dirty – and give us a good laugh whilst at it. And Tyra definitely ticks all those boxes.  For the longest time- comedy has always been another of the elusive ‘boys only’ clubs – and it’s amazing and inspiring how Tyra has not only managed to carve out a space for herself, but to subsequently dominate in that space. You cannot speak of Zimbabwean comedy today and not have Madam Boss as a big part of that narrative. Read on to hear what this remarkable woman has to say. Between the laughs and the chuckles – there is a remarkable story of growth; turning hardship into triumph and some nuggets of wisdom dished the way only Madam Boss can.

As always – there is a whole lot of other goodness for you to devour in this month’s edition of Divas Inc. We navigate the murky waters of turning the ‘friend zone’ into the ‘love zone’, we explore just how powerful a force we can be as women in business if we collaborate and work with and for each other and not against each other, we give ‘the ladies’ some extra loving in our ‘breast friends’ feature focusing on breast health, we share the do’s and don’ts when meddling in a friend’s relationship and we give you the much needed boost to get you back up after a snag or major drawback in your perfectly laid out plans – this month’s edition truly does have it all!  As always – each page was created with love – from us – to you! We hope the love comes through.

P.S. Speaking of love – I’m in love Divas. With a quint intimate restaurant in Harare called Chang Thai where they honest to the heavens serve the best food and have the best service ever! Check out a brief review on them in our Hot List section – but better yet – go through and experience it yourself!

P.P.S ( Haha – blame it on my high school days nostalgia. Letters to secret boyfriends were never complete without a P.P.S) Don’t forget our style edition is out on the 28th of November. So many style trends to ‘wrap’ your head around this summer!
