Now that the World Cup is over, you have no excuse to prepare only quick meals because you’re afraid to miss all the action. You can now take your time, be a self taught chef and give yourself an hour or more to prepare yummy dishes. Here’s an easy mouthwatering recipe.

CHILLI BEEF & BEANS

Ingredients

  • 250g rump steak
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon paprika powder
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 4 tablespoons Farm Style Tomato Puree
  • 1/3 cup chilli sauce
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Heat oil in a pan, sauté onion for a few minutes , then add crushed garlic and chopped chillies and fry for a further 2minutes
  • Add chopped red pepper and paprika powder, stir for 1minute then add kidney beans, Farm Style Tomato Puree, chilli sauce and beef stock
  • Simmer on low heat for 10minutes
  • Meanwhile in another pan, heat oil, then add rump steak and fry until desirably done. Remove the steak from the pan and allow it to rest for 5minutes. Cut into cubes and then add this to the sauce
  • Gently simmer for a further 5 minutes
  • Serve with tortillas or rice

Preparation time: 25 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes
